THE CITY OF SUWANEE (GEORGIA) AWARDS MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT FOR DOCUMENT IMAGING SERVICES TO THE

DRS GROUP OF GEORGIA, INC.

 

New York City, New York – December 11, 2008 – The DRS Group of Georgia, Inc. has been selected as the provider of document imaging and indexing services for the City of Suwanee, Georgia. The City’s document imaging initiative will encompass multiple departments and will provide for conversion of existing paper records to electronic images.

“Our City departments needed a solution that would allow us to achieve several important and interrelated goals. First, we wanted to eliminate archives of paper records to allow for easy search and retrieval of electronic files. Second, understanding that paper records have a limited life expectancy, the City wanted to ensure compliance with the Georgia Retention Schedule for Local Governments, as established by the Georgia Archives. Third, the City needed to reduce the amount of files that will be physically moved to the new City Hall. Finally, we want to promote environmental consciousness by reducing the amount of paper required for City operations,” says Jessica Roth, Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Suwanee.
