“The DRS Group has given Chatham Dermatology the opportunity to improve not only our workflow but also our work efficiency.  The service and quality we have experienced with The DRS Group is outstanding.”

Ms. Chansom V. Croft, Office Manager, -Chatham Dermatology

For several years, Chatham Dermatology has utilized The DRS Group of Georgia (located in Atlanta) to convert their Medical Records from paper to digital format.  Key reasons for their decision to outsource are

Cost Savings - It has been proven that managing documents in digital format vs. paper can cut cost by as much as 40%.

HIPPA – Security and control of confidential patient information

Immediate Access – Uninterrupted availability to patients’ records at any time

Remote Access – Patient Medical Records can be accessed even while away from the office

No Misfiles – Lost, misplaced and misfiled records are a thing of the past

Space Saving – Improved use of space as a result of no longer having to store/manage paper  medical records

IT Infrastructure – Maximizes the use of existing IT investment

Patient Service – Significant improvement

Currently, the staff of Chatham Dermatology has instant access to all patient digital medical records from a PC within their office.  The records can be accessed by user-name and a secure password.  The digital medical records can then be viewed, printed or faxed as necessary.  Chatham Dermatology utilizes Digitech Paper Vision Software retrieval software to manage their digital medical records.

The DRS Group of Georgia picks up the paper files at a location and time specified by Chatham Dermatology.   The files are then converted to digital format under strict quality control procedures. Once the medical records have been converted and QC’d, they are burned to a Compact Disc and returned to Chatham Dermatology.  All documents are currently being converted to a group 4 tiff format (non-proprietary) so that Chatham Dermatology may eventually import them into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
