Currently, the staff of
Chatham Dermatology has instant access to all patient
digital medical records from a PC within their office.
The records can be accessed by user-name and a secure
password. The digital medical records can then be
viewed, printed or faxed as necessary. Chatham
Dermatology utilizes Digitech Paper Vision Software
retrieval software to manage their digital medical
records.
The DRS Group of Georgia
picks up the paper files at a location and time
specified by Chatham Dermatology. The files are then
converted to digital format under strict quality control
procedures. Once the medical records have been converted
and QC’d, they are burned to a Compact Disc and returned
to Chatham Dermatology. All documents are currently
being converted to a group 4 tiff format
(non-proprietary) so that Chatham Dermatology may
eventually import them into an Electronic Medical Record
(EMR) system.
